damn that is-ness and oughtness,
all of what we are and all of what we might be,
wrapped up in fragile bodies,
battered orbits around a mysterious drain,
tired then lying then finding some center,
then down into barrels,
to age and refine.
a month and a day, October 2007
Its October 2007 now. I’ve had a steady job for a couple months, a base network of friends and acquaintances and the house I’m living in has settled its ranks. It’s now me in the smallest bedroom (perfect), Natalie and her boyfriend Pete in the larger and Damian, with his mountains of stuff, in the master. We cook and eat and smoke and drink, but no one does all those things...

Today then is July 2007 and tomorrow will be August 2007.

a month and a day, May 2007
Today, December 1st, marks the beginning of the the 31st month I’ve lived in Portland, Ore. There being 31 days in December, and that being a coincidence deserving of remark, I thought I’d try a little blogging project: Attempting to recall and write down what I remember from each of the months I’ve lived here and assigning each consecutive month to each consecutive day. Today...
