How might I ...
How might I secure for myself permission to think and express any thought that occurs?
My intuition says that it has everything to do with first having a durable basis for equality. I mean the sort of equality that says to every single last person that is living or has lived, “you are no better and no worse than any other person no matter what you say or do. There is no sturdy basis for...
Summer mixtape
I made a summer mix with loads of singalongs, noise, breezy numbers, español, hand claps and Portland bands. Give it a spin and enjoy!

Average attendance for MLS teams in 2010 (so far) →
Seattle gets 36K, LA gets 19K, Houston gets 16K, Kansas City and San Jose 9K a piece.
The Portland Timbers got about 10K in 2009 and turn pro next year for the 2011 season.
what kind of luck that is
Sometimes I take the bus to work. Sometimes I take line 6 because it drops me three blocks from my workplace, but it requires a nine block walk to get to. Today I took the 44 because it was arriving in three minutes (though the 4 will work exactly the same, has more frequent service and is 200 feet closer to my house). Either of these two buses require a transfer downtown, which is why I like...

Two Awesome Bars Battle for Charity →
“Speaking of England v. Germany, here in Portland, English pub Horse Brass and German bar Prost! have a friendly wager on the game going with some help from Adidas. Each bar is putting up $250 that their national team will win. Buckets will be passed around at each location to increase donations with the winning bar then donating the whole pot to after school youth soccer programs chosen by...

Seamstress Me!
Any handy seamstresses out there willing to convert of sweet tote bag type thing to a sweet backpack type thing? I’m not picky — just need something sturdy.
Here’s the bag, though its distinctly cooler in person. And I didn’t pay nearly that much for it.

Sojourn Theatre, back in the act
In January or February of 2008 Sojourn Theatre put on the best play I have ever seen. I’ll attend anything they produce and (lucky us!) this summer brings another Sojourn production.

it shouldn't surprise but it does
breakgrounds:
So because of the parade today, the game was held in some other park a couple blocks west of Pioneer Square. Sooo many people. England and USA tied 1-1.
I was incredibly excited when Gerrard started off the game with a goal in the FOURTH MINUTE.
I was incredibly ashamed when Green let the ball slide right out of his damn hands.
it shouldn’t surprise me to see so...
